How To: Assign a Case Number
Before assigning a case number, search the patient using the F4 key on the keyboard or by clicking the patient information button on the main VMIS screen.
Locate the patient and ensure that the patient does not already have a case number. If the patient does not have a case number, select the client services menu option at the top of the main VMIS window.
From the dropdown, select the admissions tab.
The pre-admissions screen will appear. Select the pending appointments tab within this screen.
Click the case number column heading to sort the cases by those who do not have case numbers.
Accounts without a case number will be shown. Once located, highlight the case and select the dropdown on the pre-admit button. From the dropdown, select generate case #.
